  • Geofreight Limited has current major focus in the mining sector being in limestone exploration for cement and/ lime production.

    Among the notable rock unit layouts in the area relatable to typical limestone hosting set-up is the presence of grey crystalline to microcrystaline Kakontwe member limestone which extends from Ndola lime area through to the Misundu old pit.

    Our licence lies within the Zambian Copperbelt (ZCB) which is part of the Central African Copperbelt (CAC). The sites highlights lime and/or cement grade limestone as well as for copper related rock formations. 

    The project involves exploration for copper, gold, lead, manganese and nickel. The main activities of the proposed exploration project will comprise: Geophysical surveys; Trenching; and Drilling (diamond core drilling).

Over 30 years in transport, finance, construction; land acquisition; site management; construction management; procurement; license and permit processes.

Role: Strategy

The company began in Ndola, Zambia where Mr. George Mwamba worked in constructing support industries, namely quarrying, cement marketing, project management and transportation. 

For the next eighteen years, the company grew slowly working on small scale works while gaining a reputation to be cost efficient and reliable.   His vast experience allows him to manage all aspects of the land acquisition and permitting process. 

The company currently manages over 1,045ha land for commercial development and holds large scale mining licenses under exploration and mine operations.

Chileshe has entrepreneurial and technical experience in the fields of banking, construction, and international trade. Since 2014, Ms. Chileshe Mwamba had been a consultant for United Nations Conference of Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and International Trade Centre (ITC) where she coordinated activities for private sector development with national, regional and international organizations. Chileshe holds a BSc in Business and Management: Accounting from Brunel University in United Kingdom and a MSc cum laude in International Business from Business School Lausanne in Switzerland. Her father founded Geofreight and she has slowly transitioned into her current role as Director. She is a member of Lusaka Chamber of Commerce & Business & Professional Women Zambia.
